The World’s Top 10 Best Painted Cats

I was so intrigued by this post, I wanted to share it with you.

The top 10 of Anything and Everything!!!

For this Caturday post I started with a single image of a cat with what looks like a pattern of a cat on it’s back! Could I really find 9 more just like it?!? Well it seems it was something that people are calling “Cat Painting” and if that sounds weird it is because it IS weird. I have no idea if they are real or not, but some of them look rather amazing indeed…

The World’s Top 10 Best Images of the Cats of Tashirojima Island

Once again Russell has shown me something I didn’t know – I find this post fascinating.

The top 10 of Anything and Everything!!!

Caturday is a day to celebrate the world of cats with funny pictures, silly memes, and lots of chats about the silly things cats do. But this is not going to be one of those kind of posts. What I want to show you is the top 10 best images of the cats of “Cat Island!” It is called that because the stray cat population is in fact twice as big as the amount of humans! Here the cats really are the master race, and it is in fact illegal to bring any kind of dog or more dominant species to the Island! So without further ado I bring you…

I have to thank Russell Deasly for his wonderful Caturday posts of Top 10 cats – the two I reblogged – wow, I am learning how to do more things on this blog – he finds the most interesting and hilarious photos for his  blog.

I have realized I have to go downstairs and find my 4 x 5 photos and  scan them so I can put up pictures of my two cats and also my Mom’s cat Josephine.  I took them before they had digital cameras – way in the dark ages to some.  I do have a photo of Subaru, my close friend Kathie’s cat Subaru.  He is rather an enigma to me because I have hardly seen him when I visit her – he spends most of his time sleeping under the covers in her bed.  So one of these days, we will meet face to face – naturally when he is ready.

Kathie found him inside a car engine when he was just a tiny kitten, I suspect that is where he acquired his name.  She really wasn’t looking for a cat but he had her at Meow.  He has turned out to be a most remarkable car – he has the ability to send messages to me and always knows when I call or emails.  Kathie says he jumps up in her lap when we are talking or emailing. He has also helped me a lot – now I know this sounds like woo woo stuff, but it is true.  She sent me an email with three pictures of him – he is quite something!  In the email, she wrote this:

I asked Subaru to help me with a healing for you and it was like he was waiting to be invited.  He, in my mind’s eye, immediately somehow ended up around your neck, twirled like a sleeping contented kitty, (a neck muffler) started purring and put his cute little nose right at your throat and whispered …. “courage”.  So that is the message from him.  Speak out, find your courage, you are loved.

Kathie was having trouble in the beginning understanding what Subaru was saying, so she asked him to give her pictures because she had read somewhere that cats communicate in pictures.  One day she  had a picture of Subaru pulling something black from my heel, like a pair of long johns.  At that particular point, I had been doing a lot of clearing, so it made perfect ( or should I say purrfect) sense to me.
I have also learned it is a cat’s purpose to absorb negative energy.  I heard a woman in the radian tell about about a cat whose owner was sick, so the cat was circling around on top the bed.  There was also a little kitten who was trying to do the same thing, but the other cat kept pushing the kitten away.  The woman was someone who talks to animals – I told you it sounds woo woo – and she asked the first cat why she kept pushing the kitten away.  The cat told her :”The kitten is too young and doesn’t know what she is doing, she is getting in my way”.
Kathie lives on a small lake and Subaru likes to sit outside and watch goes on.  One day there was snow and he had a ball playing in it.  He is an indoor cat but seems to enjoy a little outdoors once in a while.  I enjoy visiting her, it is so calm and peaceful with her.  I know Subaru is around somewhere, even if he doesn’t show himself.  At times Kathie has had to consult a woman here who talks to animals to see what is bothering Subaru.  He started biting her and it turns out he was feeling he had no place to himself because of the remodeling in the condo.  Kathie was feeling it too because she felt there was such an upheaval and it was taking a lot longer than she realized.  I think it is finally done and they both  are able to relax into their peaceful environment again.
Kathie has been a hypnotist for many years and has helped me with several things.  Now she has gone on to a different business that is  entirely different.  I haven’t seen her for quite a while because I have been sick, doing stuff for Mom, etc. while she has been setting up her new business and traveling.  I am hoping we will finally meet for tea again when she returns.  I don’t think Subaru is too happy about being left alone with someone only coming in to feed him and clean his box.  I wonder what kind of a welcome she will have from him when she arrives home.

I found this post so cool, I had to share it with others. Russell does Caturday each week with top 10 cat photos, the rest of the week has unusual subjects for other top 10’s.

The top 10 of Anything and Everything!!!

Whenever I see tanks driving or Army solders walking down the street I look at their camouflage jackets, hats and paint jobs wondering how on earth they manage to “blend in” with such oddly coloured paint schemes. But it is exactly the same for animals, some animals are so strangely coloured it is a real mystery to me what environment they would blend in with! Given that it is in fact Caturday maybe we should look at some invisible cats! So without further ado I bring you…

I Am A Cat Person

This the first thing to know about me.  I am just starting this blog, so everything is in default at the moment.  I will put up pictures when I find them and we will see how it goes.  I am certainly open to suggestions, gentle critique right now and anything else you would like to contribute to the conversation.

I grew up with cats and there is nothing like a soft, warm furry body on my shoulder purring in my ear.  When a cat sleeps on me and is so relaxed it is almost as if they have no bones; yet they can be fully awake in a flash.  All our cats were outdoor cats, though my younger sister would let them into her room from the window.  We had a mama cat who would have a litter of kittens in the canyon, then bring them up to the house when they were old enough.  Of course we girls loved them and wanted to keep them but usually Mom would have the Humane Society come and take them away – at least those they could catch.  They all had personalities and things we each loved about them.  I’m not sure if they were all the mama cat’s kittens or if there were a couple who just arrived one day.

Eddie and I had two cats of our own, Muffet was mine and Tiger was more his cat.  Both were adopted from people taking in cats.  Muffet was my sweetheart, a fluffy calico angora – she had a cape and hood of calico and the rest of her was white.  She was very skittish because she had lived outside for the first year of her life, don’t think she ever quite relaxed completely with us.  She always wolfed down her food, then promptly threw it up again.  It was hard to figure out how much was enough for her so she could keep it down and get what nutrients she needed.  I realized after a while that she was an undercover lap cat – if you couldn’t see her it didn’t count.  At night she would sleep with me, but only between the cover and the blanket.  After a time I would wake in the middle of the night with a big weight on my shoulder or chest – it was Muffet; but it was dark, so her status as not a lap cat was safe.  not quite sure what as going on but she seemed to be determined to sleep on me no matter what part of me it was.  I loved her dearly and when she developed a tumor, she had to be put to sleep.  I regret that I didn’t do it before I left on a trip, I didn’t want to lose her and it was all about me, not what was best for her.  I had a call from the vet while I was away and she had to be put to sleep.  I felt I had abandoned her when she needed me most – it still hurts to this day.

Muffet was such a sweetheart, fairly quiet.  Then there was Tiger – a more rambunctious cat than any I have ever known.  It was 6 months after losing Muffet that we adopted him – my husband wanted another cat but I wasn’t ready.  I wish I had put my foot down but I allowed myself to be overridden – another example of giving up my power.  Eddie wanted to choose the cat this time and when the two of them locked eyes, Tiger had a home.  He was a very affectionate cat and loved sleeping on me – yes, I enjoyed it myself.  At night he would race around the house, knocking over things and generally making a racket.  Sometimes I think he used to run around the walls and who knows, he could probably have made it to the ceiling.  He was definitely a counter jumper and loved to get on top of the refrigerator.  I was at my wit’s end with him – I was ready to send him back.

However, as time went on I was able to deal with him and keep things out of reach. Plus he calmed down a lot and that certainly helped.  once again I was doing latrine duty and vet runs – this was Eddie’s cat but I tool care of him.  He too wolfed down his food and sometime brought it back up again.  He was always ready to eat anything he found – not always what we had in mind.  Unfortunately he also developed a tumor, had chemo for it but it really didn’t help.  He was on prednisone and I learned how to stick a pill down his throat and make him swallow it.  Not much call for the ability for quite a while.  They said he had 3 months at the most, it was 2 years later when I had to put him to sleep.  He kept getting thinner and thinner, yet he never acted like he was a sick cat, not until the end.  I held him in my arms and talked to him as they gave him the shot. I also asked him to tell Muffet how sorry I was I hadn’t been there for her.  All this at the time my dad had just died and our niece from Jerusalem was visiting.

I want another cat, I just remember the latrine duty and vet runs – still not ready for that. I have often thought Eddie and I are hazardous to a cat’s health since both our cats developed tumors.  It really isn’t related but I just don’t want to go through all of that again.  I love being around cats and pet them whenever I can, just not ready for one of my own yet.
